Remembering Pearl Harbor

World War II was a defining moment in American history. But America wasn't even planning on joining. That changed on the morning of Dec. 7, 1941.

The Japanese launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. It killed 2,402 American military personnel. And it severely damaged America's battleship fleet.

It is important that we as Americans never forget Pearl Harbor. Today's sites explore the attack. There are timelines of the attack. And they provide the historical context of the event.

There are first-hand accounts from survivors. And there are pictures showing the results of the attack. Other Web resources are also provided.
