OK.. want to try this? Here are the rules.

1. No cheating with Google, Yahoo or any other search engines. If you don't know the answer, don't cheat.

2. Put a line or two from a popular song that has survived for at least ten years and is still played on the radio.

3. People can ask for another line if they can't guess the song.

4. The first person who guess correctly gets to put up the next song.

We all have different musical tastes but if you don't know old rock and roll you are just as screwed trying to guess mine as I am trying to guess country. We will start off easy, here goes...

Forget your lust..

For the rich man's gold.

All that you need..

is in your soul.

You stumped me right off the bat.

But I did go 'google' after admitting I didn't know the song. I am listening to a track. I like it! But I don't remember ever hearing it before.

Ooohhhh I'm so tempted to look to see what it is. I'll wait though.

Fun game - good idea, Bullfrog

Did you say you think he's blind?

With the mystery tramp, but now you realize
He's not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes

Been riding broomsticks since she was fifteen
Blow out all the other witches on the scene.
She got a bull whip, just as long as your life.
her tongue can even scratch
the soul out of the devil’s wife.

This is actually a lot tougher than I thought.
Without music, you really have to know the song well.
Can you add another line or two without giving the title away on this one?

here is a couple more lines from this one

He said he wanted heaven but praying was too slow
So he bought a one way ticket on an airline made of snow
Did you say you saw your good friend flying low

Well I seen her in action at the Player's Choice
Turn all the love men into doughnut boys.
Hey, red hot mama you better step aside,
This chicks gonna turn you to a block of ice.
Look out!

Yeah, look at old burnt out Superman
Try'n' to shoot his dust on the sun
Captain Karma kids, they're dead on the run
Oh the words of love, ah
Do they ever touch Dolly Brown?
Better get some highway an' clear outta town

OMG, I can't get any of these, and I should know them.

Got this in an e-mail today and thought I would pass it along. Talk about lyrics!

Whether you are a Billy Joel fan or not, you probably remember his great song, 'We Didn't Start the Fire.'
Here it is, set to pictures, so clever I had to share it. It's a clever flashback through the past half century. I never did know the words. Turn up volume, sit back and enjoy a review of 50 years of history in less than 3 minutes! Thanks to Billy Joel and some guy from the University of Chicago with a lot of spare time and Google. Top left gives you full screen.....top right lets you pause. Bottom left shows the year. The older you are, the more pictures you will recognize.
Anyone over age 65 should remember over 90% of what they see. But it's great at any age.

This is a really powerful ballad
And this one is as relevant today as it was almost 40 years ago

Our cities have turned into jungles
And corruption is stranglin' the land
The police force is watching the people
And the people just can't understand
We don't know how to mind our own business
'Cause the whole worlds got to be just like us
Now we are fighting a war over there
No matter who's the winner
We can't pay the cost
'Cause there's a monster on the loose
It's got our heads into a noose
And it just sits there watching

nice job my friend,
this one is a little tougher

Whoa, the servants they're so helpful, dear
The cook she is a whore
Yes, the butler has a place for her
Behind the pantry door
The maid, she's French, she's got no sense
She's wild for Crazy Horse
And when she strips, the chauffeur flips
The footman's eyes get crossed

one for you jw:
I was in another lifetime one of toil and blood
When blackness was a virtue and the road was full of mud
I came in from the wilderness a creature void of form
