Just trying out my new camera and took it with me on my 6+ mile walk I try to get in a few times a week. This is just a small sample cuz if I took a picture of everything I'd still be out there ex[happy]

This pic is just proof that I actually am walking:

A double rainbow over our neighbors house:

3 Fingers Mountain way in the background w/ snow on it:

Ebby Mountain:

Someones home in the country:

A natural pond along the way:

Another view of the same pond:

Jim Creek Road:

A small creek by the road:

Ditto:

Tree w/ ferns:

Some old building:

Project of rockery, stream and fountain thingy this guy has been building forever:

More country road:

Goat that always looks at me:

Just some driveway decorations:

Used to be a Rhody Nursery:

Silo:

Couple of horses that stare:

Marv's bull who stares:

Marv's place for sale:

Some kind of stuff that grows in this tree and never could figure out what it was:

Someone's idea of art:

Scottish highland cattle staring:

Another natural pond w/fake deer:

Cool old barn:

Distant hills:

Yet another natural small pond:

Statue of chef dude that got stolen but then found....now he's chained....sometimes he holds a sign that says stuff:

Another natural pond....usually has Canadian Geese hanging out:

Would you believe another natural pond supposedly formed by a meteorite with some fish that got swept in during a flood from a higher pond up the hill through a runoff pipe:

If you look close you can see an orange one:

Little fuzz bunny:

Couple more nice horses that greet me:

More hills in the distance:

Road thru Leo's tree farm:

Leo's Wholesale Tree farm green houses:

Leo's Tree farm:

Some buddies on the other side of the tree farm fence...it's starting to get dark:

Water storage tank and shed in tree farm:

Old barn in the tree farm:

The dead end road to our house:

Our house behind the trees.....now it's really dark:

NOW LETS SEE ALL YOUR PICS OF WHEN YOU GO FOR A WALK IN YOUR HOODS............COME ON YOU KNOW YOUR DOC TOLD YOU TO GET OUT AND WALK SOME....IT'S GOOD FOR YA ex[walker]

Wow! If I had that view, I might really enjoy walking! Beautiful country up there! I might try taking pics on my next walk. Then you'll see why I really don't like to walk any more. I'll bet you sleep good after a walk like that! Sleep

What beautiful scenery you have to look at during your walks. Great pictures! How wonderful that you take a six mile walk. How long does it take you?

PS Do you carry your cell phone with you just in case you run into any trouble?

JW,

You took some great pictures on your walk. Some of those ponds were rather interesting also.

Happy ponding,

I'm glad you enjoyed the pics............I know it was rather a lot to look at but it's a long walk like I said and I left out lots of pics. It takes me about an hour and 45 mins to do that walk but there is another way I go sometimes along the hwy that takes about 2 hours. The hwy walk is not as scenic as the shorter one but sometimes I need the long one for guilt when I eat too much ex[giggle] I'd love to see pics of where you all walk. You will be surprised if you just take the time to look closely around as you will find beauty where you never noticed perhaps before. Even just little things such as plants, birds, critters and neighbors working to make their little place pretty

Fishlips we are still in the dark ages and refuse to get a cell phone. Our reception out here is not that good either and when people are at our house w/ one they have to walk around trying to find just the right spot to do it in and that could end up being outside in the rain ex[rain

Thanks so much for taking us on your walk. I'm sure I lost several ounces if not a pound.

I love to drive in the country and often tell Pete to go home a different way than how we went. By the way, why was every critter staring at you? Just not the bunny. LOL. Scenery around here is pretty much all the same. Everything is black and white. Well some other colors I suppose----cement, tar, houses, cars, bare trees, some green pine trees. We got maybe 10" of snow added to what we had, the last couple of days but everything is plowed out well already and no problem.

Yes Rich it's quite fun but remember to leave extra early cuz it took me 4 hours to take all those pics on my regular 1 hour and 45 min walk and it was quite dark when I got home

Esther it took me a long time to post all those pics and I think I lost more weight doing that then walking too. All the critters stare at me every time I go for my walk like they don't see me everyday and I always talk to them so I don't know maybe they want me to feed them. Aw come on I used to live in Michigan for a couple yrs and there are some very pretty sites to see and lots of lakes and trees and critters. Now get out there and do some walking and take your camera. It's really fun and you meet lots of your neighbors too. ex[walker]

Where in MI did you live, JW? Esther is on the west side of the state and I am on the east.

LOL about talking to the animals. I do that too all the time. Many years ago, my (now X) husband and I lived on campus at Western Michigan University. We used to go for walks and there were squirrels all over. Lyle would get so embarrassed because I was always talking to them. Pete just kinda ignores me when I do it.

We lived in Waterford for a very short few months and then we moved into Pontiac so we could be closer to Midwestern Baptist College where my DH was going to school in the early 80's. I worked at the K-mart near Pontiac and our kids were 10 and 7. We were there for 2 yrs and then came back to Washington where I was glad to get back to the not so hot summers and not so cold winters. I loved the Spring and Fall in Michigan and all the lakes. It was a nice place to bike ride except for some of the streets were not paved near Pontiac which seemed quite strange to me as it was so close to the city ex[surprise] And the first winter was something else..............so much ice and snow it was not funny. And the tornado warnings were freaky also. Me and the kids would run to the basement and DH would just ignore it and lay up in the bed upstairs and sleep while the storm ravaged on ex[surprise] Never had a tornado tho but still the storms were scary enough ex[stormcloud] I never saw so much hard rain and lightning in my life

Oh, you lived not too far from me. Maybe things were different when you lived in Pontiac, but now it's not too safe of an area.

Yes, the winters are cold, and the summers are humid but generally the temps aren't that hot. I think the humidity makes it seem hotter. I lived in Reno for about 2 1/2 years. Besides loving the mountains it was so wonderful getting away from the humidty. Even though the temperature was in the 80s or 90s ut was comfortable in the shade.

We do have some nice comfortable days in the spring and fall. It's just in the dead of winter and summer that temps get extreme but it's not every day. The temps are pretty moderate. I'm no fan of severe storms or tornadoes either. I've never been in a tornado either, but a few have come close. I've seen some pretty scary thunderstorms, though. Did you ever see the sky turn green?

In Michigan they say if you don't like the weather, just wait five minutes and it will change ex[happy]
