Other friends MIA

The forum that I was banned from says on it's home page that they don't compete with other pond sites, they promote them. I feel that this site would not get that treatment and have lost touch with some really good hearts. We were fortunate enough to have Mikey join us and I'm glad for that, but if anyone has an email address for Pondmaninflorida, Desertponder, FishlipsMcgee, Raddad, Greg oR Blindtoo please either invite them or give me their email address.

Old friends should not be separated due to the personality conflicts and shortcomings of a few. This is a good place and they are good people. Fell free to invite anyone that you wish.

Building up members in new forum that is an offshoot from another forum brings about an ethical issue for me with respect to fishing in the other pond.

I had this same discussion with Jerry when when the Water Gardening Magazine Forum was falling to pieces and he was also challenged with how to let members of the WGM know of his new site. My response was "build it and they will come".

Jerry's dilemma was different in that the Speichart's, owners of the forum, had abandoned it and others had started up another forum in an attempt to keep the "family" together. The forums were floundering.

Your situation in starting this forum is unique due to the circumstances you told me of and of which I won't discuss here.

In this instance I am of course a friend of Jerry's and even though he wants to sell the forum it is still owned by him. I have been invited into his home on several occasions for pond parties where we have shared meals together. Jerry has come to my house for a plant exchange and we have dined together at a restaurant in Pasadena. Thus my ethical issue relating to loyalty and friendship.

All this above to say that I won't actively fish in that other pond but should someone ask or whatever I will gladly point them this way.

When Jerry and I were communicating about his new forum I suggested he post links to Koiphen and other pond sites as a show of good intentions that he was not trying to compete with them but rather be just another alternative for people to have.

Question: Will the Google spiders be able to find this website? Those spiders are what will make this site available to people doing a Google search on the web. The reason I ask is because I belong to another pond forum that is also a "free host" forum. I have never seen spiders being displayed and I think that is because of the way the owners have the forum set up on the web. Even though that other pond forum has been set up for over a year I still cannot find it when doing a Google search even though I put in the specific name of the forum.

We have Google bots here so far.

One of our friends from "The Dark Side" gave me the address for this forum but as you know I am senile and lost it. I found it by using Google.
