Do you all know some of this things ain't true?
And a lot of illegals do pay taxes because they have to..
I met some illegals once and they were telling me their stories, they were beaten almost to death, mistreated and besides that they did not want to go back. es[uhuh] es[uhuh]
So I know this firsthand not from somone sending me an email saying this is what is going on..

Yeah I just wanted to clarify some of the stuff...I know they have to go through all of the paper work and stuff. But for americans(the one at the embassy) where people go to aquire any type of visa...this ones always look down on them and so they never get any type of visa...that is one discrimination. The first one this people face.
They have to travel to the USA as illegal aliens. Which I do believe is wrong.
After they get to this country they face more discrimation of all types. Might be because of the color of their skin or the way they look like they still do not know why people treat them like crap. This is what a venezuelan told me.
The only thing they want is a better future and the only thing they get is discrimination and that is just if they make it through the desert. Some of them end up dead like a big percentage of them. Still the same guy.
Saying that they make $15 an hour is a complete lie. Most of them barely make $5 an hour and besides that and sometimes the boss tells them that they have to pay taxes and takes from those $5 bucks some suppossedly "tax money"...which I merely think he ends up keeping it.
They know nothing about the language, law or anything so they have no idea with whats going on so..they think it is fine.
Still not saying this is right for them to go up there and work illegaly but is there a way for them to do it the right way?...
Some of the people using the wellfare are the people living illegaly but with some type of visa...like traveler's visa and something like that.
This same guy wanted to go back to venezuela but had no way to do it so was asking for anytype of job to get money. Some illegals from other places of the world like someone from the UK and Germany get to travel by plane while they are deported but this poor looking South American have to travel through mexico by themselves because the Border Patrol people tell them that they are the same and they look like stupid mexicans and so they are just gonna put them at any place along the mexican american border. So they have to look for their own way to go back home. His family did not know what was going on since he had not talked to them in an entire year. So my dad told him that if he needed he could use our house phone and he did....You should have seen the tears running down his cheeks they were so breathetaking I was about to cry along with him..I was happy his family knew he was all right.
Instead of asking for money he was asking for some type of job so we would give him money for it. I was in the pond and instead of waiting for me to tell him yes. As soon as I looked back he was there in it and helping me with the pond. He said he used to build this in the USA. He said that almost all the money he made he was going to send it to Venezuela because his family were not doing that well. And so that is the way I met him and while we worked through the pond he kept on telling me his story, I asked him why did he have an accent and he said it was because he was from venezuela.
He also told me that money was not enough up there that he had to find friends and rent a house with all of them. He never used the hospital because it was way too expensive and neither all of his other friends did. They were scared of any type of cop, they barely went out. The only thing they did was to go to the supermarket really quick and never stay there that long. Because they were scared to be deported.
I may have forgotten some more...let me try to remember but the story went on and on..
After he got done with the call some of his friends came over to get a drink and they were from all different places of South America, One was from Chiapas here in mexico. They were looking for some type of work so they will get some money to travel south. They said that they became really good friends and that they will take care of each other and will never ever let any type of human being to look down on them or treat them bad...It is always nice to talk to all types of people..You get to know the problem first hand. I still cannot believe some human being think they are superior..

Yup there's discrimination everywhere even in my city, even on my street, even in my family and yes, even in my house. But I'm not talking about just skin color. Were you aware I grew up as a "dumb farmer" and a "Bible thumper"? Are you aware that I'm a "lazy fat slob"? Did you know that Pete comes from a family of "dumb farmers and stupid Dutch"? Is it true that my ADD son is a "trouble maker"? Is the person with a learning disability really dumb? I remember hearing that the son of friends who is gay died of Aids and "had it coming"? Did you know that old people (and soon Pete and I will be one) should get off the roads because they should get out of the way. Did you hear about the person in a vegetative state who isn't "worth keeping alive"? OH and a big one around here, "Get that piece of junk off the road." Yup, I have more money than the other guy so I'm more important. Then there's the folks who wave their college degree in the air as if it's a ticket to an easy life and wouldn't dream of doing manual labor because they have a degree. Then there's the people who wear their hair long and/or have body piercings and tattoos. OH and watch out for the motorcycle guys like Bullfrog----scary bunch that!! Speaking of Bullfrog,,,HE DRINKS!!! And I don't so hmmm, that's bad. (JOKING BF but you get where I'm coming from.) What about the women who wear clothes that are too small, expose too much skin, dye their hair pink and wear way too much jewelery? What about the young people who wear all black, paint their faces up with black makeup and wear all kinds of goth stuff?? What about the way that some people view young folks, inexperienced, disrespectful, spoiled, lazy, irresponsible and it goes on and on? There must be something wrong with me if I "need" to attend church. But on the other hand, the guy who doesn't attend church must really be lacking... I'm married and have kids and you have kids and no daddy is in sight. Notice the guy at work who doesn't seem to catch on as quickly as I. But on the other hand, steer clear of the guy who knows more than I because I don't want to look dumb next to him. Drive through a certain part of town at night alone and see the person in the car in front of me reaching over to lock his doors-----and then quickly lock mine too. Everybody knows that a blonde is stupid and a person with red hair angers easily. Imagine what a "little person" goes through their whole lives!!

Discrimination seems to be more out of realizing somebody else is "different" (and that can be less and it can be more) than me, and being uncomfortable with them so I separate them from me. One way or another I'm different enough than the other guy for whatever reason he is not like me to makes me look down on him or not be comfortable with him. My opinion is different than the other guy but I only understand mine so I must be right.

Where'd all that come from. We all wear our own discriminations inside. Some manage to hide them better than others. Don't you dare tell me you don't have some!!! Why is one more acceptable than the other. Why do I have to fight these discriminations that I feel? Where'd they come from in the first place? Why should I have to TRY??? And why don't they just go away when I KNOW they shouldn't be there.

I do understand what you say esther..the thing with me is that instead of discrimating others I discriminate myself first I know I am not perfect and the thing I do is that I need to love others no matter what they are, what they wear and what they look like.
I always look at others thinking, what are they thinking, are they looking at me? Do I look normal to them? Are they criticizing me? I know people call others names because they are not comfortable with themselves and as soon as they see someone with an issue they tend to emphasize it and that makes them feel better with themselves.
My mom is a phsycologist and so she always kinda tried to raised us that no matter what, we are all the same. Even if some people call someone gay and think they are going to die of aids and they can never adopt just because they are different. How are they different?
We all are going to die the same freaking way taking nothing with us besides a freaking fist of soil thrown at us when we lie at our grave. So why try to hurt other while here, we should just let others live and they will let us live.
And as far as I know, esther all what people called you and pete was just Bull**** because they never saw that you were a whole lot more, you are like the awesomest person I have ever known. People should really try to take sometime off and try to know their fellow neighboor.
I love diversity because all different things withing each human is what makes us unique and that is what we are and have to be proud of..even if I don't like myself....lol.

But sometimes there are reasons people discriminate. I think it's built into us for self preservation purposes. Here's an example of why someone might react a certain way because of a learned response. So if you slap me often enough, I'm gonna duck the next time I see you raise your hand. Or if (and this happened to my family) you are crashed into by a car that doesn't stop at a stop sign, then every time after that for a long time, you are probably going to hit the brakes or your heart beats a little faster if you think someone isn't going to stop. Why do we hit the brakes before we check the speedometor when we see a police car approaching? If I have been badly abused by someone with pink hair, I'm probably going to be leary of a pink haired person. So at the bank, after a few embarrassing situations by men in suits, white shirts and ties and carrying a brief case, I learned to be leary of those types until I got to know them. Also ladies dressed to the hilt with diamonds dripping from their body parts and obviously moneyed, I again learned to be leary of the power with which they tried to hit me. I worked in a bank so had to serve without obvious discrimination but even though I knew how to not mistreat people because of this or that, it didn't mean I didn't want to smack them or be mean to them at times. Isn't that discrimination too? Or is it only when it's a verb, when I actually do something active?

OK, another thought----Is it possible people of color or whatever reason, tend to also think they are discriminated against because of that color. FOR Instance:::: we have a tenant who is of African American descent. They are about 75, neat, clean, educated, business people, polite, kind, honest, religious, and gentle folk. They have rented from us about a year and a half now. I like them very much except for one thing. There have been three, 3, THREE, situations now where the husband has hinted that they were mistreated because of their color.

One was where a window repair company had sent two young men about 18-19, (summer help)over to do some very minor repair on 1 window. Mr. Tenant said that when the young men saw that it was a black lady that came to the door, they just said, "Hi, we're here to fix the window." I asked him what was wrong with that. He said he could tell they didn't like her by the way they looked at her when they saw she was black. I asked him if they were polite and did they thank her when they left. "Yes, but I knew. So when you talk to that company, please let them know how they treated my wife." And yes, I did mention it to the company but when I found out that the two guys were young kids with no experience. I decided they were scared to death so weren't going to get all chatty like I would.

Then we sent a guy over to fix the garage door when Mr. Tenant ran into it. He paid the bill but Pete overheard him arguing with the fixit guy and he said he was charging too much and he saw now why Mr. Fixit thought he could overcharge because he was a friend of ours. Then he said to the guy's face that he was overcharging because they were black. It's a good thing our friend was a Christian because I think he might have whacked Mr. Tenant for what he said. In the meantime Pete is out there wanting to evict the guy for being mean to our friend. The thing that makes us so mad too is that Mr. Fixit has gone over to twice now for FREE, once to change the lightbulb, and once to adjust the door, and hurried right over because he knew they were old people who probably couldn't open and close the door manually or climb the ladder to get to the bulb. GRRR!!!

Then, we have been having trouble with him because even though he pays his rent well and on time, he is behind in reembursing us for the water bill. So I've been putting on his statement that the rent is a "partial payment". He doesn't like that so the other day I wrote him a very factual letter reitterating the fact that we have OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF OUR HEARTS (and never charged them) installed handicap pull bar by the tub and another handrail going down the stairs so now there's two, a handrail on both entry porches when it wasn't required by law, finished off a room in the basement so he could use it for an office, we put up curtains over the patio door because they coudn't get on a ladder, Pete installed their two AC units because the old guy couldn't lift them, and put plastic twice over the patio door at the beginning of winter so it stayed warmer in there. Oh and put in a new front door because we couldn't get it to be airtight. Well he called and complained that I was rubbing their noses in this stuff and said that I wouldn't have sent the letter if they weren't old and black. He said that they deserved all the handicap stuff because they were 75. Fortunately, Pete was gulping so hard that he kept his temper and the guy quickly said, "goodby" so even if Pete wanted to verbally smack him, he wouldn't have had time. I'm afraid that now, when he wants a favor, we might not take so kindly to doing it.

I have said many times that even though I don't like the way that things are now, that if I were poor and living in Mexico, I would cross the border in a heart beat to feed my kids.

I don't care about people crossing boarders. I do care when they do it illegally and still gain the benefits of our land.
