I think I posted that I (Praise God) returned to my job after almost 18 months of being laid off. Two weeks after going back to work my mother had a bad fall. She went into the garage to throw something in the recycle bin and slipped off the step. I found out later that she had crawled back into the house. I cannot say enough about the wonderful EMS responders that took her to the hospital. They were all so pleasant and especially sweet to her. The hospital here, after seeing her X-rays wouldn't touch her and transferred her by ambulance to a very excellent hospital in the Metro Detroit area. It just so happens that her doctors are affiliated with that hospital and I know it is excellent so I was very glad that she was there. There is a name for her fracture, which I will not be able to spell but what happened is that her femur got shoved up into her pelvis and shattered her pelvis. When I arrived to the hospital she was having a procedure done where they put pins through her knee and then a pully with weights on the end of her bed to try to pull that bone out from her pelvis. Two days later she underwent a 8 hour surgery where the doctor had to make a hip socket for her so she will be able to have a place for a hip replacement that he thinks that she will need later. She has 3 metal plates in her hip. Thankfully at 79 she came through that surgery well which was a concern to the doctor because of her age. She is now in a nursing/rehabilitation center receiving therapy but the doctor will not allow her to put any weight on either leg for 3 months so she is in bed or in a wheelchair. She cannot even use a walker at this point because the doctor doesn't want her hopping on the good leg as that side of her pelvis is injured too. She is finally feeling better but she will have a long road to walking again. I have been leaving the house at 6 AM and not getting home until 7:30-8 PM and then there was returning phone calls of those that heard about her and called, taking care of her business (bills etc) and preparing for the next day. I had to bring my dog to the people that fostered her before I adopted her because I'm gone from the house too long to leave her alone and I bring her home on weekends. I've missed my friends here. I just went online this morning to pay some bills and wanted to make a quick post. I will try to pop in now more often now that things are finally starting to calm down. I hope everything is going well for everyone. I don't even have time to read posts this morning but hope to be able to catch up soon.
