Gator 911 on CMT?

They are located here in SETX, just outside of Beaumont. Last week, they started having "Dinner on the Deck" on Friday nights for people to come out and see the park and have dinner while watching the show on television.

We went that night, and we also went last night. It is really a blast. A group of our hockey family, as well as others all got together and had a great time. I've never been a fan of reptiles or bugs, or anything, but this has been a cool learning experience! Not only that, it is promoting something local in our area, as well as garnering national attention.

If you have watched the show, with the whole crew, what you see on TV is what you get, as far as personality goes. They are just down-home good people. The owner and star of the show, Gary, came and sat with us several different times last night, asking our opinions on several different things. Things such as what to do to make the Friday night events a success, as well as what kinds of things we would like to see on the show for next season. They just wrapped up filming for Season 1 yesterday afternoon. Everyone (including many fans) is hoping that Season 2 will have hour-long shows.

It was just really fascinating to learn new things in such a great atmosphere. I even won a prize for already knowing that a grown alligator can travel up to 30 m.p.h. on land! Anyway, just thought I'd check to see if any of you from "afar" have watched it.

We have decided to make it a regular thing on Friday nights, at least for the next 5 weeks (the end of the season).

Rosebud, you ought to try and come out one night. I sent Bobby an invitation on Facebook, so maybe you could get him to bring you!?

No I haven't seen it and am not sure it comes here to Grand Rapids Michigan. That sounds real interesting though. I like that kind of stuff. Of course there's no gaters around here, not loose anyway. Although every so often somebody starts a rumor of one being in the sewers of the city or a local park lake. It has happened that some idiot has brought a baby home and when it got too big or they got tired of it, they let it go in the lake.

Bartender, that is at Gator Country, huh? I've never watched the show, guess I'll have to make it a point to see it. My 10 year old grandson is coming to visit next month. I've been trying to think of things to do to keep him from getting bored with us "old folks". That sounds like something he would like. They have snakes there too and he loves snakes!

Yes Rosebud, that would be the one! Don't wait until next month to come out on a Friday night with us! The show comes on at 8pm central time, on CMT, but we usually get there between 6:30-7 to eat and visit. There's no charge to get in, unless you actually take a guided tour of the park. It's not fancy, so it's all casual. They have great food, and it's a perfect family environment.

I've dubbed our "little" group the "Gator Groupies", and Jana (co-owner) is supposed to reserve my tables this week with a sign that says that!! Of course, that's just an added perk, 'cuz they don't do reservations!!

I have learned alot, but for me, it's not even so much about watching the show, or even looking at the gators, it's just about being around great people and having fun. I LOVE TO LAUGH and HAVE FUN!!! Can ya tell??

Who knows, maybe the "Gator Groupies" will become a part of the show for next season!??! The film crew was actually there Friday before last, but since they wrapped up for this season, they are gone now. It would be kinda cool for Gator Country PR, to show us Groupies watching the Gator 911 show at GC.
