You'll have some really beautiful ponds and fish. I don't know a thing about ponds and fish but I do appreciate the beauty of them.
Are they expensive? What do some of those fish cost?

Bubbles, Because we can't afford to buy expensive koi. When we bought these koi we bought babies we hoped would grow to be "show" fish, but we also know that seldom happens. So while our fish are pretty and we like them a lot they probably won't ever take any major awards at a koi show.

From going to the shows though, we know people who think nothing of spending hundreds and even thousand's of dollars on a koi if they see one they like with good potential. We aren't in that league at all though.

The liner for the pond can be $100 or more depending on the size of pond you want and the pump and filter can run into the hundreds also unless you are handy and make your own filter. If you just have pet store goldfish they are fairly cheap unless you go for the fancier ones like Shubunkins etc. Ponds are some work but if you enjoy them they are worth it in the beauty that they add and the sound of the waterfalls are very soothing along w/ just watching the fish swimming around Some are lucky enough to have a natural pond on their property and all they have to do is add the fish and protect them from old Mr Heron
