At a garage sale today, I got a cordless hedge trimmer for $20.

It came with a battery and a charger.

I'm looking forward to not having to dick around with a loooong extension cord (remember that FIRE! came out of the cord last time I used my old leaf vaccuum?!).

But the battery thing is new to me:

Do you have to keep it sitting on the charger all the time? I will only use the thing a coupla times a year.

How long does it take to charge up? If I want to use it on Sunday morning, will charging it over Saturday night be sufficient?

How long does the charge last? Will I get several hours out of it, hopefully?

Thanks, Janice.

Hmmm. Now I'm not so sure I got such a good deal. A few months back, I invested in a super good, heavy duty, very long extension cord, so as to avoid the fire issue I had before, due to overtaxing the cord. When you factor in the cost of the cord (prolly around $50) and the $20 for the new trimmer, that's a lot of dough. Maybe I should have stuck with my old dull electric model.

We'll see.

I would try Googleing "Manual for...(make/model)hedge trimmer" Many times the maker will have a pdf format manual on-line.
