Hey girl, man is is good to see you here. Everybody meet Rosebud, she has been my friend for a long time now on several forums. I don't think she has a pond but she grows some of the prettiest roses you will ever see. Rosebud, you, Esther and JW are really going to click.

If you saw my back yard right now, you might rethink the pond part. It has rained so much, I'm beginning to think God misunderstood me. I said I wanted a swimming pool IN my back yard. He thought I wanted my back yard to BE a swimming pool!

No kidding, boy did we get the rain yesterday and I mean all day. It's supposed to clear up today and tomorrow and then start all over again. I'm still taking my wife to Galveston but we will get a room and not camp out, the ground has to be soaked.

Well, Esther, I'll soon be 63 years old. I don't live near Bullfrog, but he's not too too far. Hubby & I are retired. We did have 2 dogs; one mutt and one lab. I just recently had to have my old mutt put down. He was 13 years old. I'm going to miss him a lot. He was MY dog.
My one passion is growing roses. They are a lot of trouble, but well worth it! At one time, I had 12 bushes, but as I've gotten older, I've had to cut back on them. Now I only have 7.
Hmm, not much else to tell. Looking back on what I've written, I sound kind of dull. I guess I'm just a laid back kind of person. Nothing much exciting happens around here! Anyway, I'm glad Bullfrog sent me y'all's way. I was looking for another forum to join. The one I've been on has too many trouble makers on it. They like to keep things stirred up all the time. Bullfrog knows all about that one! Thanks for the welcome!

Rosebud is anything but dull, she is a firecracker. Yes that old forum has a jerk that keeps changing his name several times a day and just constantly stirs the pot. It's really strange because that forum is his entire life and he wants to be in charge so bad he can't stand it. Being as obnoxious as he is he has managed to run everyone off and it has died on the vine, now whats he gonna do? Even a bird knows not to poop in it's nest. That won't happen here Rosebud, no turmoil. I am the administrator, JW and Esther are moderators. We won't let anyone muck this place up. I'm really glad that you joined us.

I suspect the biggest problem will be me. I says things the ways I see 'em while trying to be tactful. I'm very straight laced but understand that because I'm that way doesn't mean everybody else has to be that way. So sometimes it's difficult for me to know how to repond to things withought offending.
Say, Rosebud, you are OLD... LOL, I'm older than you and retired too. Did you have kids? We did, but we got rid of them. Found out they were more trouble than they were worth. It's better now as the 5 are between 31 and 41. All of a sudden, we have gotten a lot smarter. Imagine!! Really, we do well together, thank God.
So hmm, roses. Welllll I have had them but in Michigan, they sometimes get a little winter killed and don't make it. I now have 4 UMMM, I can't remember. Bushy type, 2 red and two pink, but they are very easy to grow. I cut off the dead blossoms and cut back the dead wood in the spring from winter and that's about all. Guess I haven't even fertilized them, come to think of it.
RAther than posting 7 zillion pictures, I think I'll give you the link to my photobucket and people can snoop, I mean look to their heart's content.

I would reciprocate and give you my photobucket link, but I don't know how to do that. Can you guide me through it?
Hubby & I have 7 children. His, mine, and ours. Six boys and one girl. Three boys and the girl are his, two boys are mine, and we have one boy that's ours. Thank goodness, they are all grown and out on their own. There are 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Really, Bullfrog! A firecracker? Me? Now whatever gave you that idea?

Log into your Photobucket account. Put the cursor over the address at the top. Left click on it to highlight it. Right click and a drop down box will appear. Left click on the word COPY. Your computer is remembering whatever you have highlighted. Then go to your message box and put the cursor wherever you want to print what you have copied. left click there to tell the computer, "Put it here." Then right click to get that drop down box again, left click on the word PASTE to tell the computer to put what you have copied in that spot. WALA. Somehow when I click on that, my computer takes me to the address you have copied and pasted.

My sons are computer geeks and I used to have them make up cheat cards for me on stuff like that. I'd use the card until I finally remembered it. You can use that same procedure to copy and paste most anything. Sometimes pictures need a different way but sometimes it works. For instance, I just moved MAAAANY DIY threads and pictures from another forum. As it was, it still took forever but went a lot faster copying and pasting than if I had to type all that and connect the pictures again, here.
I am now on three forums and Facebook too and sometimes I want to show or tell all four the same thing. UHHUH, copy and paste.
Yup, we have 8 grands too but no greats. Oh and we are a blended family too, girl and two boys Pete's and two boys mine. Been married 20 years to first and 25 to second.

Yup, now Rosebud, you could have just typed in what the copy and paste missed and it would work. Try it. I didn't notice if we could delete our whole posts or not. Yup, way down on the left is a box and by it, it says, "Delete this post." Try it on your douple post. Sometimes we need to do that. I'm going to snoop right now in your picture life.

Just snooped and enjoyed your pictures. Was your "my peach" the only peach that year. LOL Those blossoms are great. SNOW!! You had snow?? We have it to. LOL. Of course your roses are great. And the dogs too. Love pets. Braydon--LOL. There are a whole slew of ways to spell that one. We had a grandson Braedon. I'll tell ya later about him. Did you do Trunk or Treat at church? My neighbor lady is Lutheran and they do it there.

Well, I couldn't find a box that said delete post. Just one that says edit.
I had a slew of peaches this year. Made a lot of cobblers. We rarely have snow. Last Dec. was the earliest I ever remember it happening. Usually, if we have it, it comes in Jan. or Feb.! My grandchildren don't live close so, I woke my neighbor up at 5a.m. to ask if her 4 year old son could come out an play. She was so excited to see snow that she came out to play too! It was a strange sight to see! Everyone on our street was out before daylight playing in the snow!
Our church just started Trunk or Treat last year. We had a blast! We not only handed out candy, we roasted marshmellows, made smores, and made hot dogs. It was so much fun! The children's enthusiasm is catching!

No fears, the Bartender is here to tell y'all some stories! :[IMG]/hidelaug

Actually, that Bullfrog is one wild and crazy guy, but I would trust him with my children's lives anyday. The two of us have a pact for when the end of our days come, and I know that my friend, the Bullfrog will keep his end of the deal, should I be the first to leave this world; just as he knows he can count on me, should he be first.

Stay tuned. Some great war stories will follow. Just waiting for Bullfrog to return so he can include his two-cents' worth.

Bartender and I go way back. We were partners on an ambulance and we have seen the best and the worst things that life can throw at a person. I too would trust her with the lives of my children, she is a a great and caring medic.

We made heart wrenching calls, the time an elderly woman woke up from a nap to find her husband of fifty years dead and then she herself had a heart attack and "died". We were able to save her but not her husband. I'll never forget it. everyone was focused on dad who was obviously dead, cold dead when bartender looked at mom and said "She doesn't look so good."

I looked at her and said "She isn't breathing." We drug her to the floor and in front of her kids ripped her dress open. I placed the paddles of the defibrillator on her chest and she was in fine V Fib (ventricular fibrillation) I charged the defibrillator and shouted "Clear!" Looked to make sure that Bartender wasn't touching her and shocked her. No response so I increased the voltage, the whine of the machine wound up and then there was a blip, followed by another, and then another.

Her heart began to beat and she took in a long, loud, deep breath and opened her eyes. Bartender was holding her head and looked into her eyes and said "Helloooo." She made it, there is no bigger rush in this world than arriving on a scene where someone is clinically dead and leaving with a live patient. We were overjoyed. Then reality sets in. She had lived with this man for 50 years and the shock of his death literally killed her and we brought her back to mourn.

It was a mixed feeling of emotions, would she have been better off just to have left with him? But then her kids would have lost both parents on the same day.

Sorry for the sad story, we have some funny ones also. I let Bartender field the man with the dirty dildo in his pocket. Do you want to try this one Bartender, or the Michelin Man?

I'm still the Captain of the Medical Team at work and respond to emergencies there, but have pretty much retired after many years of running the streets. The local volunteer group are too snitty and a bunch of power freaks and as far as the paid services, they work 24 hour shifts. You will be washing the truck after getting spanked all night waiting for relief when the radio goes off to call the station and the conversation goes like this...

"Your relief called in sick, can you pull a double?"

"Sure, we got spanked all night and I didn't get a wink of sleep but I can do another 24 hours."

Maybe in my younger days but life is too short and precious at my age to spend 48 hours at a stretch bouncing down the road trying to start an IV.
