Today was the first day of the year with Temps above 50 degrees
This afternoon we were able to account for all 9 koi in the pond. The sun coaxed them out of their winter hiding and every one was swimming (albeit slowly) throughout the pond. Even our one goldfish "Columbus" made his season debut today. Everyone is happy although without any plant cover they sure look vulnerable to Mr. Heron now.
Hopefully the Basset Hound Guard dog will keep them at bay until the plants have a chance to provide some cover.

My fish woke up a couple of weeks ago and started stirring about asking to be fed. Spring is just around the corner...

Yep, my goldies are swimming around too. Way to early to start feeding around here though. Temps are 40s but we're bound to get more snow and cold temps. It sure is nice to see a sign that spring is on the way. I was able to get the dogs out for a walk yesterday. Yea!

Your ahead of us. Our ponds are all still completely covered in snow. But then all of our fish are in the basement tanks.

I sure am anxious for spring to show up though!! It has warmed here and melted some of the snow, but it's got a way to go before it looks anything like spring.

We were quite warm yesterday......in the high 60's. I spent the day outside digging a new garden spot.

Spring has sprung, so cha,cha,cha
Spring has sprung, so cha,cha,cha
Spring has sprung and I am happy, birds are happy too
If you sing this song with me than you'll be happy too

Just a little diddy that my old choir teacher made up one day in high school
