My son and me

Thank you much. Everything went perfect this past weekend. With any luck, my son will be back for the fourth of july.

jw, I didn't do anything special. I backed off from the Photo Bucket awhile and went back to try it again and it came up to where I could download my pics. So, I was able to get the pics downloaded and get there here so that all of you could see them. Sorry, they are so big...but I got them on here anyway.

Thanks, frog. The weekend couldn't have gone any better, if I had tried. At one point, my son told me that he felt more comfortable with this side of the family than he did with the other side. He is a very introverted young man, like his father, and quite serious alot of the time. We had some good talks and I was able to tell him some of what I have wanted to tell him for the last 20 years. We talked and laughed and joked around.....all the time enjoying each others company. I even took him to the target range where he got to shoot my pistols. He had never shot a pistol before and he didn't do too badly. All I know is that telling him bye monday was one of the hardest things that I have had to do in a long time. Depending on when he can get some leave time again, he might be back for the 4th of July. Everyone over here told me that my son looks alot like me....but that he looks alot better than me. lol

No forum I've ever been on can download one from your PC, an avatar yes but not a picture.

I always just uploaded my pictures from my computer on AP's site. There is a button above the text box on this site when you post a reply that says"Host an image" but I've never been able to get it to work.

I don't store my pictures on photobucket so if I wasnt to post a picture I have to take the extra step to put it there first.

AWwwww. So glad it went well. And just look at those matching body parts!! Even down to the Adam's apple. LOL. What a relief to know you did well and the rest of the family worked in well too. What a great bunch you have.

I got it to work this way one time. After selecting my image and clicking "host it" I usually get another box asking for my e-mail adress & password and giving me the choice to join or log in. When I sign in nothing happens and I have to back out of everything. Now I am having problems deleting my avitar. I have changed avitars several times without a problem but now I get a window saying there is a problem with the website. Sheesh

Already tried clearing the cache a day or two ago. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

I spoke to my son on the computer today, sunday, and he is back on the base now. With everything that we did last weekend with eating out, shopping, the family reunion and all, the thing that apparently he enjoyed the most was when him and I went to the gun range and shot my pistols. He said today that " honestly can't wait to go shootin again sometime". He had never shot pistols before and said that the next time he will borrow my brother's rifle so that he "can show me something". lol I guess that no one can ever be sure but I believe that him and I bonded some when he was down here. He is planning, depending on his leave time, to come back for the 4th of July. I can hardly wait.

That's great news, Joe! Sounds like you two really did hit it off! July will be here before you know it!
