It appears as though the four units that are pouring water out are sealed containers of some sort.
The first thing that crossed my mind was, when the algae starts to grow inside those containers from exposure to the sun, how do they clean them?
The water that they are using must be full a chemical algae killer.

JW I missed that how to part. That really took some planning to make that work. They obviously don't have kids.
