I don't get it that a president won't salute the flag or casket of a diceased service person. Why should we show respect to someone who won't show respect to our flag or someone who died defending his freedom?

Has anyone heard why he won't salute?

There have been many pictures posted like this on this forum, in fact, I think this picture has been posted. Maybe you missed them if you have been avoiding the political threads. Bullfrog calls it Obama's crotch salute

Why he won't salute I think is in align with his beliefs about this country. Why did he absolutely refuse to wear the flag pin while a senator, even when all the other members wore it, and during the Presidental campaign? When questioned about it he said something like he didn't need a pin to show his patriotism or some such bull. When he became serious canidate running against a very patriotic war hero it suddenly appeared on his lapel one day.
