Congratulations!!!

I'm so happy for you. It sounds like a fantastic position.

I was also called back to my job at GM! This was my first week back after being laid off for 15 months. I didn't want to post my happy news until Freddie knew if he got his job. I know how stressful the waiting can be.

Congrats again, Freddie!

Congrats to you fishlips Job interview - Page 2 265366
It is even better now knowing your success too.
I took Mrs. Peepers out for dinner tonite and still owe her much more for putting up with me.
I met with the manager today for lunch and we spent almost 3 hours together. I found out he has the same strong Christian beliefs that my wife and I have. I really couldn't be happier knowing that. I now realize that there was a plan for me all along.

Well I've been on the job for a week now. I have visited most of my existing customers and have really enjoyed seeing all the different industries. Several of the businesses produce food packaging so I need to wear a hair net and a beard net when i go in those places. I now own a brand new pick-up truck that I need for the job. I even get an expense account that I can use to buy stuff like doughnuts or pizzas for the fellas working on the machines at the companies on my customer list.

I start work this coming Monday. I'm back to work at the same location, and with the same people, but the company is a new government contractor. It pays quite well. Security for a NOAA location in Seattle.

Happy ponding,

He was the supervisor of the central supply department of a large Nursing Home until October last year. The NH sold to new owner's who eliminated his position so he wasn't retained. From what we've learned about the management of that particular company this was not a bad thing overall because he likely would have wanted to quit in short order if he had been retained.

At least this way for a while he's getting unemployment. However unless the government continues with the unemployment extensions they've been doing it won't be enough to span until he can collect Social Security (1 year 4 months to go) We can't count on the extensions happening, so this is the reason he needs to find work most of all.

My job was retained by the old healthcare company when the NH sold, I'm in a clerical position in the finance department, cleaning up the A/R and also do insurance billing for a couple other homes owned by the same company, but it's not guaranteed that's going to last forever either. Plus I don't make enough to meet all the monthly household expenses on my own.

He'd like to find something like that again, or some sort of buying position somewhere. He has a degree in business management, and has mostly worked in some sort of a buying position.
