I have been purchasing filter media of different sizes and sorts for several from this location. They also have other stuff. They ship quickly and I like their media. It lasts forever.

Why did I put that there anyways??? What I meant was www.krewkut.com.  Make more sense?

I have been fortunate enough to find what I need at a pond supply about a mile & a half away called 'Oaktree Ponds'. I bought my real course (white) filter medium form them, and the rest at Lowe's in the furnace filter dept. I have been able to find that I can cut all of my filter pads to size based upon the need for each application.

The filter media I use in my skimmer/pre-filter is white and real course. I can almost see through it. It rinses real easy, and it seems to last for a long time. I take it out, and rinse it. Then drop it back into the basket that holds it in place.

With the Shubunkins spawning and chasing each other around the pond, they have things rather stirred up lately. I have to check and rinse the pre-filter almost every day right now.

Happy ponding,

Yes, first I have brushes that catch anything tangly or leaves. Then is a layer of the course and then a double layer that gets out the fines.

Maybe I need to make some modifications to my skimmer/pre-filter. I have a few ideas. I'll have to make some sketches and take pictures of my progress.
